Our stake in the subject
Reef Casino Trust owns The Reef Hotel Casino — the trust holds the complex as owner and lessor — and that same trust writes these pages. Treat the review accordingly: an owner describing its own building can be accurate, but it cannot be neutral, and this is not an independent review.
Running the hotel from one day to the next is the job of Casinos Austria International (Cairns) Pty Ltd, which the trust’s annual report names as operator. An off-market offer from Iris Cairns Property, part of Iris Capital, closed in August 2026 and left it with majority control of the trust’s units. The property title stayed with the trust.
Where the revenue comes from
Income reaches us by two routes. A referral partner can pay a commission when a booking traces back to a tagged link on these pages, and any stay booked direct puts room revenue in the owner’s accounts — ours. Neither route alters your price. The neighbouring hotels mentioned on the review page earn us nothing.
Checking before publishing

- Anything we cannot verify is phrased loosely or carries an “ask the hotel” flag.
